gme1, I have almost the exact same problem. The only difference is I cannot hear the ASDF keys click. I spoke with T-Mobile and they tried to help, but the phone the phone was purchased online so they weren't able to uphold a warranty. Sharp is no help at all. Did you find a fix?

OK, i've tried this alcohol thing, and it's only temporary. Your main problem is that lint and stuff packed around the trackball. Think of is as one of those old mice with the ball inside and how to clean them. I used toothpicks to clean them.
